Description of cryolite aka six sodium fluoride:
1.Sodium fluoride basic performance:
Cryolite aka six sodium fluoride or sodium fluoride, molecular formula Na3AlF6, molecular weight 209.94, small white or white crystalline and slightly gray powder. The hardness is 2~3, the relative density is 3, the melting point is 1009 C, and the water absorbs moisture easily.

3.particle size:
According to its size, it is divided into grainy (1-10mm), sand (80 mesh) and powder (200-325 mesh), which can provide different grain sizes according to the requirements of the user. The characteristics of different state products are as follows:
①. the most granular cryolite particles 1~10mm, good fluidity, no dust pollution, suitable for mechanization of material; the electrolytic production of high efficiency, can reduce the cost of electrolytic aluminum; the molecular ratio between 2.5~3.0, and is especially suitable for aluminum electrolysis tank.
②. sandy cryolite: low melting point than the major, melting speed, can shorten the time in normal working condition; the molecular ratio in a wide range adjustment, can adapt to the different requirements of the cryolite ratio of electrolytic cell in different periods; the moisture content is low, the loss of fluorine; granular, good fluidity to facilitate transportation, mechanization and automation of material.
③. the powdered cryolite can reach high granularity, usually more than 200 meshes; the molecular ratio of 1.75~3.0, has good scalability; the fine product, 325 mesh through rate of more than 98%, can meet the requirements of the special industry of cryolite. Besides being used as a flux for aluminum electrolysis, it is also suitable for the wear-resistant filling agent of resin grinding wheel, metal flux glass shading agent, enamel cream and so on. The method is simple and easy to operate when using.
4.use of Cryolite aka six fluoride sand
Mainly used for aluminum electrolysis of cryolite flux; wear-resistant filler of rubber and grinding wheel; iron alloy and boiling steel flux, non-ferrous metal casting flux, deoxidizer, olefin polymerization catalyst and emulsifier; enamel, opal glass fluxing agent, welding materials, ceramic filler, pesticide pesticides etc..
