According to China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation's "Announcement on the Approval and Release of 6 Group Standards including "Green Design Product Evaluation Technical Specifications for Furniture Adhesives" (No. 02 of 2021), the "Green Design Products" drafted by China National Coatings Industry Association Evaluation Technical Specifications for Titanium Dioxide (T/CPCIF 0088-2021, T/CNCIA 02008-2021), "Green Design Product Evaluation Technical Specifications for Iron Oxide Pigments" (T/CPCIF 0089-2021, T/CNCIA 02009-2021) The standard is officially released with a release date of February 3, 2021 and an implementation date of May 3, 2021.

On June 30, 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology formulated the "Industrial Green Development Plan (2016-2020)", which proposed to establish an industrial green design product standard system, carry out green design pilot demonstrations, formulate green product evaluation standards, and strive to create a hundred industrial green design products by 2020. 1 green demonstration park and 1,000 green demonstration factories have been established, and 10,000 green products have been popularized, and green supply and industrial chains have been initially formed in major industries. On December 25, 2016, the General Office of the State Council issued the Implementation Plan for the Extended Producer Responsibility System (Ting Zi [2016] No. 99), proposing a system for the entire life cycle. In accordance with the requirements of the State Council and the deployment of "Green Manufacturing 2025", the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will thoroughly implement the concept of green development, build a green manufacturing system, promote the formation of green production methods, actively promote the green design of industrial products, improve product competitiveness, and improve the quality and efficiency of supply. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, pilot demonstrations of green design shall be carried out, and evaluation standards for green products shall be formulated.

Under the unified deployment of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and the guidance of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China National Coatings Industry Association launched the establishment of a green manufacturing system for the coatings industry during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period. A series of evaluation standards for green design products such as water-based architectural coatings, water-based wood coatings, cathodic electrophoretic coatings, metal oxide miscible pigments, titanium dioxide, and iron oxide pigments have been compiled. More than 50 kinds of paint and pigment products from Carpoly Chemical Group Co., Ltd., Xiangjiang Paint Technology Co., Ltd., and Hunan Jufa Technology Co., Ltd. were selected into the list of green design products of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which played a good demonstration and driving role. At the same time, the China Coatings Industry Association released the "Evaluation Requirements for Green Coatings Park" during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, and the evaluation standards for green factories in coatings, titanium dioxide, iron oxide pigments and other industries will also be released soon. It has laid a solid foundation for the green development of the paint and pigment industries during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period.
